Global Scholars Event: The Self Help Graphics & Art Youth Committee Housing Rights Video Project

On Thursday, May 13 from 6-7 p.m., Global Scholar Cohort member Milo W. ‘21 will present his capstone project, the Self Help Graphics & Art Youth Committee Housing Rights Video Project. The grant proposal project is an extension of his junior year fellowship on the inaugural Youth Committee at Self Help Graphics & Art, a community arts center in Boyle Heights which supports Latinx artists. The grant project will subsidize the production of a four-part video series focused on the gentrification and displacement of East Los Angeles residents. The goal of the video series is to raise awareness for housing rights and promote anti-displacement advocacy through oral histories and filmmaking. Milo will be joined by Self Help Graphics & Art Community Engagement Coordinator, Natalie Godinez, as well as current Self Help Graphics Youth Committee members. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!
