About the Film and Director

Generation Hope examines the impact of the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement on Los Angeles’s youth. With interviewees from all around the county, the documentary captures the various standpoints of teens around L.A. Generation Hope looks at how relationships are changing, how social media has taken center stage for political engagement, and much more.

Thibeaux H. ‘21 has taken film every semester since sophomore year. Having made five short films, this is Thibeaux’s first documentary. He made this documentary in response to the turmoil this summer caused by George Floyd’s murder. Aiming to spread a message of hope and unity, Generation Hope gives an inside look at what the future has to offer. Please RSVP to attend this GIP-Global Scholar event.
