Virtual Alumni Speaker Series: Storytelling and the Creative Process featuring Alec Berg ’87, writer, producer, and director. Moderated by Blythe Haaga Parker ’01, director and producer.

Alec Berg ’87 attended Poly from sixth grade through high-school. He has been a professional writer, producer, and director of films and television for almost 30 years. His credits include Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Dictator, Eurotrip, HBO’s Silicon Valley, and Barry. He has lost 21 Emmy awards, eight Producers Guild of America Awards, seven Writers Guild of America Awards, a Directors Guild of America Award, and a Razzie Award. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, daughter, three dogs, and a chameleon.

Blythe Haaga Parker ’01 is a director and producer currently working on season two of Showtime’s Work in Progress. In addition to her television work, she directs commercials with Cap Gun Collective. Previously, she was the producer of the NPR podcast How To Do Everything. She graduated from Poly in 2001 as an almost-lifer and recently spent four seasons as an assistant coach for the Poly girls basketball team. She loved every minute and pulled her hamstring several times trying to keep up. She lives in Eagle Rock with her husband and two daughters.
