PolyToday: Swimming With Sixth-Graders

Today was another on-campus visit for small cohorts of Middle Schoolers. Sixth-graders were organized by advisory groups and began by debriefing with their classmates. Games were played (charades, captain on deck, to name a few). At the end of the advisory time, advisors walked students to their group's PE rotation for the week, and the coaches took over from there. In the pool the swimmers were put through their paces—or rather, strokes—by Coaches Mikels and Williams, and were given an introduction to water polo from Coach Grab, an Upper School water polo coach. The air was chilly when students jumped in the water, but they quickly noticed (and appreciated) how warm the water was. By the time the period ended the sun was out, no doubt helping to warm up students on their way home.
