Fall Training Sessions Support Health of 212 Student-Athletes

On November 3, the Athletics department wrapped up its fall training sessions. What started out as a five-week endeavor has turned into a nearly seven-week program that has positively affected the physical, emotional, and mental health of 212 student-athletes.

These training sessions provided some skill-building and strength training, but the real focus was on the health and well-being of the participating student-athletes. It provided an outlet for them to get away from their desks twice a week and to be active with fellow teammates, while carefully following COVID-19 protocols and guidelines. Despite daylight savings, Athletics still saw a strong turnout with just over 100 student-athletes during the final two days of the training sessions.

The Athletics department was excited to have the opportunity to provide this space for its student-athletes and looks forward to when they can bring them back on campus to start the fall season. Be sure to keep an eye out for information and updates about the upcoming fall season.
