7th Graders Get Earthquake Ready

During a recent 7th-grade FLEx activity, students had an opportunity to do a meaningful project in which items for a personal earthquake bag were reviewed and gathered in a scavenger hunt and assembly. Students were given a list of items with points value, a time limit, and a virtual bulletin board to display images of their bag. Some of the items included water, spare sneakers, flashlight, first aid items, snacks, and written emergency information.

According to Anya P. '26, "I was interested in learning more about what actions to take before, during, and after an earthquake from this earthquake preparedness activity. Taking steps to prepare my family and me is something that I have always wanted to do but never set time aside, so I am glad I had the opportunity to participate in this with all my peers."

These 7th graders are now earthquake prepared and got to enjoy a fun scavenger hunt in the process!
