Poly Athletics Offers One Week of Training

Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, eight of Poly’s sports will have the opportunity to hold training sessions on campus. This is an opportunity for the student-athletes to meet each other and the coaches, as well as a time to welcome any new members of the community. These sessions are optional and attendance is not required to be part of the team during the regular season. These sessions are not indicative of participation during the regular season. The focus of these sessions is on health and wellness. Sign-up is required in order to participate. If you have not yet signed up, please contact Thomas Sale at tsale@polytechnic.org.

The eight sports participating include girls basketball (Wednesday), cross country (Wednesday-Thursday), dance teams (Monday-Thursday), football (Monday-Friday), girls soccer (Tuesday & Thursday), boys volleyball (Monday-Thursday), girls volleyball (Tuesday-Friday), and water polo (Monday-Friday). The Athletics department in conjunction with the Health Office have put together an in-depth set of protocols all coaches and student-athletes must follow during this week of participation. These protocols can be found here. Masks are required by the protocols. Any individual without a mask will not be allowed on campus.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Athletic Director Steve Beerman at sbeerman@polytechnic.org. The Athletics department is excited about this opportunity, and the health and safety of students remains its top priority.
