Testing Policy for the 2020-2021 Admission Season

(applicants to grades 6-12)

In accordance with our commitment to equity, inclusion, and the values of PolyHonor, Polytechnic School will suspend its requirement that applicants to grades 6-12 submit results from the ISEE exam. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to present many challenges to our applicant families, including limited ISEE testing availability and access. In addition, we know that many families face circumstances that make standardized testing an undue burden. We hope our decision to waive the ISEE will alleviate some of the emotional and financial stress on students and their families during this unprecedented time.

Poly fosters a community of students committed to academic and co-curricular excellence, personal responsibility, and service to others. Our whole-person approach to admission reflects our dedication to exploring each applicant’s potential match with our school’s mission and philosophy. Though our admission committee will not consider ISEE scores during the 2020-21 season, we will continue our thorough, comprehensive review process in which faculty, administrators, and members of the admission team thoughtfully consider how each aspect of the application creates a holistic picture of each child.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to admission@polytechnic.org. We appreciate your interest in Poly and look forward to getting to know your family this fall!

With sincerity,
The Poly Admission and Enrollment Team
