We Stand With Our Students

We acknowledge and respect the courage of our BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) students and alumni who have shared their painful experiences of bias and racism at Poly. The anonymous accounts on Dear Poly and other social media reflect enduring hurt, and we are humbled by their honesty. We at Poly will do what we ask of our students—learn and do better.

Head of School John Bracker’s recent messages outline Poly’s current anti-racist strategies and priorities and immediate action to create dialogue within our community. Because we value the voices of Poly students and alumni, we invite you to get involved in the school’s effort to become an inclusive, anti-racist community with the following ways:

  • Give feedback and share your thoughts here
  • Report an incident of bias, discrimination, or harassment by contacting Sean Dwyer, Director of Human Resources and Risk Management or Candace Veasey, Assistant Director of Human Resources. Note: there will be no retaliation to any Poly student or employee submitting a report.
  • Attend a Reconciliation Forum for Black, Latinx, and Asian alumni. The forums will provide a space for community members to share their experiences and begin a dialogue to inspire action. Information on how to participate will be sent by the Alumni Office this week.

At Poly, we envision a community of learners where every member feels safe, visible, and valued. We will share updates in the weeks and months ahead as we thoughtfully and decisively address inequities at Poly and make vital and meaningful change.
