Poly Athletics Hires New Head Girls Basketball Coach, Chris Rodgers

The Athletics department welcomes Chris Rodgers to the coaching team. Rodgers will be heading up the girls basketball program and comes to Poly from Marlborough School in Los Angeles. There he was the Basketball Program Director as well as the Varsity Basketball coach. We are excited for him to bring those skills and talents to the Poly community.

Rodgers is originally from the east coast and played at Bucknell University all four years after which he played professionally overseas for six years. He comes to Poly with 20 years coaching experience under his belt, coaching at various levels including five years at the high school level. Rodgers’ favorite part of coaching is the competition, from planning, prepping, and seeing the team's hard work come to fruition during games to seeing their expressions when they achieve something they set out to do. He sees the court as his classroom and wants the student-athletes to be excited about learning, competing, and playing. He values leadership, communication, and integrity and finds the importance in passing those values along to his players. He wants them to know they will benefit them not just on the court but in life.

Rodgers appreciates Poly’s values in community and family, and he knows his coaching mantra of  “we are a family,” is a wonderful contribution to the Poly community. Poly looks forward to his contributions in the coming school year. Welcome, Chris Rodgers!
