Upper School Spring Musical, Fiddler on the Roof

During this time, when so many large events must postpone or cancel, we are happy to share a moment of Poly tradition that will go on (somewhat) as scheduled: the Upper School Spring Musical production of "
Fiddler on the Roof."

We moved to Remote Learning with five weeks left in our rehearsal process, but with 47 cast members, 11 pit orchestra musicians, eight tech crew members, and five adult production staff it felt like too much was at stake to abandon the production entirely. So we have reconfigured our show using footage from our early in-person rehearsals and Zoom, as well as having student actors and musicians recording music remotely and the tech crew helping to mix audio files. The finished product will not look or sound like a typical production in Garland auditorium, but it will be a heartfelt representation of the passion, persistence, and resilience of Poly students during these unprecedented times.

We hope you will join us for a digital event to premiere this version of Fiddler on Friday, May 8th at 7 p.m. Together, students and families can watch the production for the first time followed by a panel discussion with cast and crew members. Simply RSVP using this Google Form and instructions will be emailed to you 30 minutes prior to “curtain.” We are also encouraging the cast, pit orchestra, and crew to dress up if you are so inclined to join us.

We know it’s not the same as being able to share this experience in person, but we promise it will be an enjoyable way to mark this occasion together.
