Winter Tailgate wins and Prep League champs

On Tuesday, Poly Athletics hosted its annual Winter Tailgate. Poly hosted Providence School in boys soccer and Flintridge Prep in boys and girls basketball. The afternoon was filled with senior celebrations, fun halftime games, and Chick-fil-A with their mascot cow. Although the girls basketball team had a tough loss against the Rebels, boys basketball and girls water polo came up victorious outscoring them 54-35 in basketball and 14-7 in water polo. The win for girls water polo also secured them the title of Prep League champions for their fourth consecutive year and for the eighth time in the last nine years. Also winning big on Tuesday was Poly’s boys soccer team: The Panthers shut out Providence in a 3-0 victory, earning them the title of Prep League champions. This is their first league title in seven years. Congratulations to Poly’s girls water polo and boys soccer teams!
