Middle School girls soccer win league championship

Yesterday Poly hosted the Middle School Independent League Girls Soccer Tournament. This tournament takes the top four teams from the regular season and places them in a head-to-head playoff-style of play. The four teams in the playoffs were High Point, Mayfield Junior, Chandler, and  Poly. Poly came into the tournament as the first seed with an undefeated record. Their first match was against Mayfield Junior; High Point took on Chandler. Poly defeated Mayfield Junior 5-0 in the first round, advancing them to the championship game against High Point. Poly and High Point played a tough game, during which the score was tied 1-1 for the majority of the game. The Panthers pulled away later in the second half, scoring two more goals and defeating High Point 3-1 and with the title of undefeated Independent League champions. Congrats to the team!
