PolyToday: Making music in Engineering class

The seniors in Jack Prater's Engineering class were recently tasked to create a musical instrument. The only constraint was that the instrument be playable by a human and be capable of playing a musical scale designed by the student. Teams of students worked in the woodshop to create each apparatus and then presented - and performed! - to the class. On display during the class recital was an alto and bass flute, kalimba (thumb piano), pan flute, and a drum bone (made famous by the Blue Man Group).
