Christine Tse Kuecherer ‘92 visits for PolyConnect Lunch

On Oct. 16, Christine Tse Kuecherer ‘92 visited campus for the first PolyConnect lunch of the 2019-20 school year. As the vice president of growth and marketing at Papaya, a mobile bill-paying app, she manages marketing initiatives as well as developing company culture and recruiting for Papaya’s rapid growth. Working as the business manager for Poly’s yearbook inspired Christine to pursue a career in business. After Poly, Christine attended Brown University, where she worked in promotion and marketing for their campus radio station. Christine continued her graduate studies at Harvard Business School and credits her Poly education — primarily Poly’s emphasis on critical thinking — for her graduate success. Christine explored a variety of industries after graduating (including consulting on the East Coast and marketing for Yahoo!, Caviar, Fast Pay, and a number of startups).

The power of networking played a crucial role in Christine’s career. The first startup she worked for was started by a friend from Brown, and she landed her current job through a LinkedIn message from an acquaintance. When asked how to network for success, Christine offered the advice: “Your network begins with Poly. Every person you ever work with, know, or meet at a party is a member of your network. Be a good person, and the universe will work itself out.”
