PolyToday: The Kindergarten Community Festival

Kindergartners explore the question “Who am I and how do I fit into the world?” in social studies with the overarching goal of celebrating the similarities and differences in their classroom and community and across the seven continents.
Last week, families enjoyed and appreciated the results of their work. The Kindergarten Community Festival is an opportunity for students to host a celebration of diversity centered on song, dance, and food.
Following the performance, students and their families enjoyed picnic lunches on Grace Henley patio. After lunch, families toured the Seven Continents Museum in the kindergarten classrooms. The museum represented months of learning by the Class of 2031 as they "traveled" across the seven continents. Visitors were able to bring the exhibit to life by activating QR codes on class iPads or cell phones. The event also featured tasting portions of dishes the kindergarten class learned about with Chef Alex the previous day.
