Poly divers qualify for CIF

Last weekend, Poly hosted 10 divers at the 2019 Polytechnic Diving Invitational at the Poly Aquatics Center. This is an opportunity for divers to earn points and qualify for CIF. Each diver gets 11 dives. It was a very competitive pool of divers, who showed some impressive dives. Poly had two divers participating in this event: Sophomore Sophie McAfee topped the competition on the girls' side, winning the invitational and qualifying for CIF; junior Ben Smith also dove well and scored enough to qualify for CIF. Tomorrow, the swimming and diving team will celebrate and honor their seven seniors before their meet against Mayfield Senior. The celebration will begin at approximately 3:20 p.m. before the 3:30 p.m. meet.
