PolyToday: Farmers' Market visit

Kindergartners recently visited Villa Park Farmers' Market. They learned how farmers sell the items that they grow on their farms, as part of the lesson on how food gets to homes and families from around the world. A focus of kindergarten is "who am I and how I fit into the world," so students spent the morning looking through that lens. The Class of 2031 knows what it means to work in the garden, so the connection between their time in the garden and the science curriculum was clear. Students rotated through playing in the nearby park, listening to stories read about farmers' markets, and visiting the market itself.
