PolyToday: Poly parent Hope Demetriades

Hope Demetriades, a mixed-media artist, discussed her work portraying United States abolitionists as saints with Dr. Farrar's eighth-grade history classes earlier this week.
The work highlights the bravery, sacrifice, vision, unity, and triumph of reformers who worked to eradicate slavery in this country. It is part of a series called "Created Equal: America's Civil Rights Struggle," which is co-sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
