More spring firsts

The week, Poly’s sports teams have hit a few firsts of the season. Boys tennis played in their first league match on Tuesday against Buckley. What was anticipated to be a tough match, the Panthers dominated with a 16-2 win. Poly’s badminton team played in their first match of the season hosting Sierra Vista High School. They were able to start their season off on a positive note playing a competitive match against the Dons and beating them 11-10. Boys golf also played in their first match of the season against South Pasadena. The team has some rookie players who are still finding their footing. They fell to South Pasadena 247-221 but hope to bounce back for next week’s match-ups. This takes us to swimming and diving’s first swim meet of the season today, Feb. 28, against Viewpoint School at 3:30 p.m. in the Poly Aquatics Center. Also playing today is Poly’s softball team on Poly’s softball diamond as well as the boys Varsity tennis team at Pasadena City College. Check out the full schedule on the Athletic Calendar.
