PolyToday: Community K

Community K is an important part of the kindergarten year where students get to know everyone in their entire grade. Teachers redistribute the 45 students into two "Community K" groups that change every two months. These groups meet once a week to play and also attend Spanish and music classes together.  By the end of the year, kindergartners really know all the kids in their class, making the transition to first grade a little easier. Today was the first meeting of the Snowflakes and Raindrops (the names of the current iteration of the groups), and the students began by introducing their stuffed animals, which they brought to school for tomorrow's Health and Safety Expo (more on that another day - stay tuned).
