Poly baseball receives All-CIF honors

Yesterday, the CIF-SS Baseball Coaches’ Association released this year's All-CIF selections. Poly not only came home with the CIF-SS Division 6 championship, but Poly has been honored with this year’s Division 6 Coach of the Year, as well as the Division 6 Player of the Year. In his inaugural year as the Panthers’ head baseball coach, Mack Paciorek coached the boys to a perfect 11-0 league season and an outstanding 27-3 overall record. Winning was not his only goal. Paciorek took the time and effort to focus on teamwork, a strong work ethic, and building a cohesive baseball program overall. Senior Matt Queen was named the 2018 Division 6 Player of the Year award because of the work he put in on both sides of the ball. Queen pitched 64.2 innings, had a 0.43 ERA and 86 strikeouts, and a realized a personal record of 12-1. He was also an offensive threat with a hitting average of .379, 23 RBIs, 33 hits, and three homeruns. Senior Cameron McFarlane was selected as first-team All-CIF along with junior Franco Alonso. Senior Ty Evans received second-team All-CIF honors.
