Poly equestrian team rides into a strong finish

Poly’s equestrian team is unique in that they compete year round, and the team comprises Upper School students, as well as eighth-graders. The six-member team competed in their last show last month. The year’s worth of hard work and dedication paid off as they walked away placing in the top 10 in every event. The team finished 19th of 68 competing schools. Freshman Rory O’Neil placed first in the freshman jumpers speed category and was named the champion of overall freshman jumpers. Freshman Margaret Sweeney also came away with great accomplishments including champion of overall freshman equitation and champion overall equitation rider, which is a year-end award given to the rider with the highest number of points of all riders in all divisions. Congratulations to the Poly equestrian team on such a successful season!
