The Alumni Association is excited to develop a new resource as part of our successful PolyConnect program. We are seeking internship and job-shadow experiences to offer our current Upper School students and alumni in hopes of promoting new mutually beneficial connections for you and for them!
Hosting an intern or job-shadow student is a valuable and fun way to engage with our exceptional, motivated Poly students and alumni community. If you or your company would like to participate in this unique opportunity, please submit an Internship
or Job Shadow
Company Profile to the Alumni Office. We receive the majority of inquiries for internships in the spring and are looking for openings to begin as early as April.
– Job shadow is a work experience option for students to learn about a post in observation of a particular employee during the work day. The arrangement is a relatively brief, unpaid exposure to the workplace in an occupational area of interest to the student. Students witness firsthand the work environment, employability and occupational skills in practice, the value of professional training, and potential career options. Job shadowing is designed to increase career awareness, help model behavior through examples and reinforce in the student the link between classroom learning and work requirements. Almost any workplace is a potential job-shadowing site. Priority for job shadowing opportunities will be given to current Upper School students on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in sharing your work day with a high school student, please submit a Company Profile
to the Alumni Office.
– Internships offer a period of practical experience in an industry related to a field of study or interest. This arrangement is valuable to both students and alumni as a means of applying their studies to the “real world.” PolyConnect encourages employers to offer positions that demand engagement and responsibility from the intern, genuinely benefitting the employer and leading to experiences that can be highly attractive to future potential employers on a candidate's resume. If you are interested in hosting an internship for current students or alumni, please submit a Company Profile
to the Alumni Office
