107th annual Poly Pet and Hobby Show on Friday, April 26, from 12-3 p.m.

Come join us for the 107th Poly Pet and Hobby Show. This year’s theme is "Wild About Kindness." For years, the Poly Pet & Hobby Show has taken place every Spring on Babcock field. The Lower School and Middle Schools are dismissed at noon so all of Polytechnic students can enjoy this beloved multigenerational school-wide event. Upper School students join us to help run the booths and enjoy the food and dessert vendors. The festival, which began over 107 years ago in 1916, features outdoor carnival games, a ceremonial Maypole dance between 1st and 5th grade students, a dog show and an indoor gymnasium full of all of children’s hobbies, who choose to showcase them. This wonderful family friendly outdoor event is free to anyone. Alumni, incoming families, Pasadena neighbors and current families are all encouraged to attend.

The festival is bigger and better than ever. This year’s planning co-chairs Debby Kumar and Steve Bialecki are determined to elevate the 107th Poly Pet & Hobby Show with more fun, interactive and new booths for the children and their families. This year’s food vendors include: Pie N’ Burger, Pickles & Peas, Dog Haus, Teri & Yaki, Nona Rosa Pizza and Miravilla. The onsite dessert vendors will be Waffle Land and Nomad Ice pops. Everyone is sure to enjoy the festival with a full belly. The Poly Pet & Hobby show will feature our famous Dog Show with co-host Brady Frome, Lower School/Middle School Drama Teacher and Alex Velasco, Lower School Dean of Student Life. Additionally, a beloved school tradition is for the children to dunk their favorite teacher or faculty member in the dunk tank. Don’t miss the lineup!

Each grade ranging from Kindergarten to 8 th will have either a carnival booth or interactive game setup for the students to participate in. The newly revamped PPHS will features the Express Yourself Zone, where students can color their hair, get a temporary tattoo, get face paint or dance in the silent disco; the Kids Zone, is where students can climb through obstacle courses, race down slides or jump in bounce houses. This year there will be a designated area for incoming kindergarteners and kindergartners. The Sweet Shops Zone is a busy one as you can imagine.
