Got the phonics blues? Does sounding out words to read or spell feel like an uphill battle? Then this may be the class for you! In this class, students will develop strategies for sounding out and identifying features of words. Students will also work with word patterns and sight words, focusing on beginning and ending sounds, short vowels, blends, digraphs, and possibly some long vowel patterns. Through hands-on activities and games, word study can be lots of fun! Please note that classes in both sessions will cover the same content.
