PASC Radio is now on the air

The Poly Arts Student Council (PASC) is excited to reveal the first two episodes from the new PASC Radio station. Two of the members of PASC, Clay H. and Jamal J., are collaborating to create content that shares music and interviews artists with the Poly community. PASC’s mission is to promote the arts at Poly and within the community. Other projects include the Stall Street Journal, The Artist of the 6-Day Rotation, Fifth Quarters, and a Visiting Artist Assembly. The Stall Street Journal is a monthly newsletter highlighting events and Poly artists; each issue is posted inside the bathroom stalls in restrooms (hence the name). The Artist of the 6-Day Rotation is intended to introduce Upper School students and faculty to student-artists that the community might not know about; a new person is presented at every Day 5 morning meeting. A Fifth Quarter is a safe place for student performance (often following a football game which explains its name); students sing, play instruments, share music they’ve composed, dance, do stand-up comedy, screen films, and share photos of their visual art pieces. For the PASC Assembly, professional artists in a variety of fields join a panel to talk about their path to their vocation, giving students the opportunity to ask questions and learn about different ways that art can be pursued as a career. Stay tuned for more news of the arts from the 12 dedicated student members of PASC!
