All-American Zibby Boyer '11 headed to World University Games in South Korea

Zibby Boyer '11 will represent the United States in South Korea this summer, competing in the women’s high jump at the World University Games.
Her international competition comes on the heels of a stellar senior season with UCLA track and field, where she took home the 2015 Pac-12 title in high jump and earned a spot for the second consecutive year at the NCAA Division I championships. Earlier in the season, Zibby cleared a personal best height of 6’ 1.25”, the fourth best jump in UCLA history. Her impressive performance also tied Zibby for the seventh highest jump recorded in NCAA Division I this season leading into last weekend. Her collegiate career culminated with a 16th place finish in the high jump at the National Championship on Saturday, clinching her spot on the 2015 NCAA Division I All-American Second-Team.

Zibby’s jumping career took off at Poly, where the four-time Varsity track star won three consecutive CIF-SS titles from 2009 to 2011. She earned All-CIF, All-league, Coaches Award, and two-time MVP honors in addition to setting Poly’s high jump record at 5’ 8”. Her academic strengths also carried forward to college, where the psychology and communications major landed on the UCLA Athletic Director’s Honor Roll numerous times. She was selected to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic roster all three years she was eligible, and in her junior year, Zibby received an honorable mention in the Pac-12 All-Academic selection.
